Prices are for a clean, average-condition sedan. Trucks, SUVs, three-row vehicles, heavy pet hair, and neglected paint take longer, so they cost more. Add-ons priced separately: pet hair removal, engine bay cleaning, headlight restoration, odor treatment, and full interior extraction on work trucks. We do not offer ceramic coatings. We finish every job with a paint sealant instead, and the FAQ below explains why.

01 / Winter
Magnesium chloride brine
Nevada crews spray mag chloride on I-80, 395, and Mount Rose Highway to keep ice off. It is far less visible than rock salt, and it holds moisture against metal instead of drying off.
It packs into wheel wells, rocker panels, and frame seams, where it keeps working on bare metal and chipped paint all winter long.
02 / Year-round
Alkali dust and hard water
Dust off the valley playas is alkaline and slightly abrasive. Wiped dry, it drags across clear coat and leaves fine scratching that shows up in direct sun.
Rinse it with Truckee Meadows tap water and the dissolved minerals dry into spots. Left in the sun, those spots etch into the clear coat and stop wiping off.
03 / 250+ sunny days
UV at 4,500 feet
Reno sits around 4,500 feet with roughly 250 sunny days a year. Thinner air filters less UV, so paint here takes a harder dose than the same vehicle would at sea level.
Clear coat oxidizes from the top down. Red and black fade first, plastic trim goes chalky gray, and headlight lenses haze over.

Wildfire ash, sap, and pollen
Smoke season drops fine ash across the whole valley. Ash is alkaline and gritty, and one wet morning is enough to start it working on the finish.
Park under Sierra foothill pines and you add sap and pollen. Both bake hard in the sun and will etch a mark into clear coat if they sit through a hot week.

My truck spends five days a week on I-80 and the winter film never fully came off in a drive-through. They got under the rockers and in the wheel wells, and the undercarriage rinse alone was worth it. Six weeks later it still beads.
Two dogs, three kids, and a car I was embarrassed to have anyone look at. The hair was gone, all of it, including out of the seat belt tracks. They quoted the pet hair charge before starting instead of surprising me at the end.
They came to my driveway in Somersett and worked out of their own tank, which I did not think was possible. Told me up front that two of the deeper scratches were through the clear and would not come out. Appreciated not being sold something that would not work.
Black paint, parked outside in Sparks, and the water spots had been there long enough that I assumed they were permanent. Most of it came out. They walked me around the car when they finished and pointed out the two spots that did not, which was fair.

Travel is free within 20 miles of downtown Reno. Past that (Carson City, Incline Village, Truckee, and the far end of Cold Springs) there is a flat travel fee, quoted up front before you book. If you are not sure whether you are in range, ask.

How long will it take?
A Basic Detail (Interior Only) is 2 to 3 hours. A Full Detail is most of a working day, 6 to 8 hours. Adding the Exterior Wash puts about another hour on either one. Heavy pet hair, sand, or a work truck interior adds time, and we tell you that at the quote rather than at the end.
What do you need from me, since you are mobile?
A parking space with about three feet of clear room on every side, and a standard outdoor outlet. We carry our own water, so a spigot is a nice-to-have, not a requirement. Shade helps a lot in July; a garage or carport is even better. If you are in an apartment complex or an HOA that restricts washing on the property, check first, because a few in Reno and Sparks do.
Do you do ceramic coatings?
No. A ceramic coating has to cure in a controlled indoor space for hours after it goes on, and we work out of driveways, so we will not pretend we can do one properly. We finish every job with a machine-applied paint sealant instead. A sealant gives you 4 to 6 months of real protection against UV, brine, and etching, it costs a fraction of a coating, and it can be topped up any time we come back. If you specifically want a coating, we will happily point you at a shop that does them right.
Do you charge extra for pet hair?
Yes, and we quote it before we start. Light shedding is usually included. Hair that is woven into carpet and cloth seats has to be pulled out with a brush and rubber tools, one section at a time, and that can add one to three hours. Send a photo of the back seat and we will give you the number ahead of time.
Can you get my scratches and swirls out?
Some of them. The Full Detail includes a single-stage machine polish, and that takes out light swirls, dullness, and most hard water spotting. Here is the honest limit: polishing works by leveling a very small amount of clear coat down to the bottom of the mark. If your fingernail catches in a scratch, it is through the clear coat and no amount of polishing will fix it. That is a paint repair, not a detail. Heavily oxidized or badly swirled paint needs multi-stage correction, which we do not offer, and we will tell you that up front rather than take your money and hand back a car that looks the same.
Can you detail in winter?
Yes, and winter is when it matters most, because that is when mag chloride is sitting on your undercarriage. Because we work outdoors, we do need the temperature above about 45 °F and no active snow or rain. Sealants will not bond properly in the cold or wet. A garage or carport gets around most of that, so tell us if you have one. If Reno weather turns on your appointment day, we reschedule at no charge, usually within the same week.
How do I pay?
Cash, all major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and Zelle. We take payment when the job is done, after you have walked around the vehicle and are happy with it. No deposit needed on any package.
What if I need to cancel?
Give us 24 hours' notice and there is no charge at all, for any package. Same-day cancellations are fine too, we would just ask that you text as early as you can so we can offer the slot to someone else. If we arrive and cannot work (no outlet, no access to the vehicle, weather we warned you about), we will try to reschedule you first before anything is charged.
